Known issues/bugs
These are the known issues that we are working on resolving.
- 2022-03-18: Some background updates to Chrome may cause Max OS X to forget about previously granted Screen Share permissions. If you suddenly encounter permission error 1136 in Chrome with Mac OS X, and Chrome still appears as given permission in the Privacy settings, the workaround is to remove permissions in Privacy -> Screen Recording from Google Chrome and add them back again. After that, you should be able to share screen again. Update: Google has fixes this issue in Chrome 100.
- (2022-01-27) Audio returning from breakout rooms sometimes does not reconnect. Sometimes a user returning from breakout room needs to refresh the page to rejoin audio in the main room. We are working to improve this experience. For the moment, you loose audio when rejoining, you can refresh your browser and rejoin the main room with audio (the client will fully reload in under 5 seconds).
- Audio is sometimes out of sync with webcam video. In BigBlueButton, the audio and video travel through two different channels. In some recordings, they can be about a second out of sync. We are investigating further as to why this is happening.
- Meeting Statistics All the times in the statistics reports are currently in UTC. We are working on automatically adjusting the times to the users local timezone.
- Connectivity issues with Spectrum Internet. We've seen issues with some customers of Spectrum Internet getting periodically disconnected after recent network updates. The fix is to disable IPV6 on their router.
- Safari Mobile (iPad/iOS) does not allow users to share their screen. Currently, neither Android or iOS devices implement the screen share API for the browser.
- Error 1136: Permission to capture the screen needs to be granted If your chrome is open, and it's half way through updating, then screen-share will not be recognized and you might get this error. To overcome this, restart Chrome (and let it finish updating) and then you will be able to screen share again.
