All of our servers are hosted outside of China.
Sometimes, you may have a student within China wanting to join a BigBlueButton session.
Unfortunately, we do not have any magic to get through the Great Chinese Firewall (GCF). For the student behind the firewall, a given BigBlueButton session may work, or it may not. It totally depends on whether the GCF decides to throttle or block the connections from the user's browser to our servers at that time.
As such, we do not recommend using BigBlueButton for any scenario where a student needs to connect through the GCF.
With regards to Russia, we use Digital Ocean for some of our BigBlueButton servers, and Russia is currently blocking access to Digital Ocean. As a result, we do not recommend using our hosting of BigBlueButton for students in Russia.
